There are more than 116,000 Australians experiencing homelessness. Alarmingly, approximately 60,000 of these are under the age of 35, and more than 17,000 children under the age of 12 don’t have a stable place to call home.
The face of homelessness in Australia has changed. Across New South Wales, the high cost of living, stagnant wages and unsteady jobs can push anyone into crisis. Many families living on the edge are only a few pay packets away from homelessness, and the majority of people experiencing homelessness are in the prime of their lives.
Your support is vital in helping us provide essential care and programs to those in our community who need it the most.

Why we need your support
Homelessness and the rising cost of living is a significant issue often overlooked and misunderstood by the wider community.
The OLMC Parish Varroville Vinnies Community Sleepout will provide our Parish Community with a glimpse of what it’s like to sleep rough for one night, encourage us to learn more about these issues and how we can be a part of the solution. By getting involved with the Vinnies Community Sleepout, our Parish and YOU will play an active role in our local community in raising funds and awareness of the plight faced by many Australians who do not have secure living arrangements.
How can you help
The OLMC Parish Varroville Vinnies Community Sleepout aims to raise funds and awareness to help people experiencing homelessness and the rising cost of living in our community.
The Parish donates the funds raised to the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) for their good works in our local communities. In today’s financial climate, more people are turning to Vinnies for help. Please register or donate today to help us reach our fundraising goal of $6000 so that we are able to help Vinnies continue their work in providing essential homelessness programs and services to the most vulnerable in our society.
